Individual Therapy with Adults (LGBTQI + TGNC folks welcome!)
In working together, I utilize concepts in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and will also  incorporate Mindfulness practices in sessions. I come from a background of training in strengths-based and trauma-informed approaches and use this to help us find ways to move forward together. This does not mean I won't hold you accountable. Depending on your treatment objectives, I will give you light "homework" and ask you to practice things we discuss in session to help support your efforts in achieving your goals for therapy.

Adolescents (14-17) and Transition-Aged Youth (18-24)
Teen and young adult years are particularly special--so much development is happening cognitively and relationally. In my work with teens and young adults, my focus is to support them in identity-development, decision-making, and self-esteem. Wouldn't we all have appreciated a (non-parent!) neutral, caring and supportive adult to help guide us during these years?

After-abortion supportive therapy
As a former volunteer support counselor on a national talk line, I know how important it can be to have a non-judgmental person listening to your experience(s) with abortion. It can be a contentious and stigmatizing topic--something you may not be sure you can bring up with your friends or family for support. You won't have to worry about that here. My purpose is to be a support to you and to work to help you process the often complex feelings that                                                                     come along with abortion.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing)
EMDR is a relatively new treatment option for folks who have experienced a traumatic event. Using eye movements, we can access "stuck" trauma and help it move through you so that it loses some of its power. Assessment is needed before EMDR can be utilized in order to ensure your best care. You can learn more about EMDR here: https://www.emdr.com/what-is-emdr/

Culturally-responsive therapy & work with Latinx adult children of immigrants
As a child of immigrants myself, I have first-hand experience with what it can be like to move through the world as a bi-cultural, second-generation person. How this experience can shape identity, values, and relationships is something that I'm sensitive to. Against this backdrop, we'll explore your unique background, adaptation, and goals for therapy to help you feel seen and supported during your treatment experience.

Pre-surgical Assessments for TGNC folks in the Bay Area (adults only)
Since 2018, I've regularly completed pre-surgical assessments for those looking to transition surgically. This is a multi-visit process, however, I am highly sensitive to the urgency, relief, concerns and excitement attached to achieving your surgical goals. I've completed assessments for both top and bottom surgeries and genuinely enjoy helping people move forward in their often very long and complex journey toward feeling like themselves.
