What does "going to therapy" mean?

It means taking time to slow down, notice your feelings and sit with them a while. You can learn a lot about yourself. It sounds easy, but it can be difficult for some folks to do. It can be daunting and difficult to carve out an hour every week to self-reflect. Most people don't do that. Well, that's where therapy can help.

Often, people find that talking to someone neutral and removed from their everyday life can help them strive toward emotional wellness more freely. When you can talk out loud about the feelings you have, the actions you’re not so sure about, or the things you’re starting to notice about yourself in different contexts–those can be moments of transformation. It takes reflection, action, sitting and moving, and it can make all the difference to have someone support you along the way.

Everyone’s learning is distinct, and we can thrive in the spaces we cultivate.

You matter...make space for yourself.
